Si algo resulta verdaderamente apasionante desde el punto de vista creativo, sin duda alguna es poner imagen a la música, y el reto de conseguir que tu trabajo sea la traducción gráfica de aquello que estás escuchando, lo cual es siempre un viaje enormemente excitante. En ocasiones te lleva al universo visual de Kubrick para jugar con el op art y la astronomía, otras con las películas clásicas de espías y el pop art, o con la cartelería circense del siglo XIX, y en otras ocasiones resulta absolutamente necesaria una sencilla metáfora poética porque se trata del último disco que publica una gran banda. Todo un honor, a la vez que un disfrute máximo.
One of the most exciting things, from a creative point of view, is to create artwork for a music album or single. The challenge of transforming what you are listening to into a graphic image is a truly thrilling journey. Sometimes it takes you to Kubrick’s visual universe to play with Op Art and astronomy, or to classic spy films, Pop Art and 19th century circus signs. On other occasions a more intimate register is required because it is the last ever album ever from a huge band. Such a cover screams for a poetic metaphor. Cover art is an honourable pleasure that provides maximum enjoyment at the same time.
